Petition Drive Successful

Thanks to all library supporters and especially to those who took time to sign or to carry GFJ’s funding petition. Thanks to you we surpassed our goal and the petitions have been submitted to the Town of Union for certification. This clears the way for the community to vote on the first increase in funding since 2008 for the Endicott & Johnson City public libraries. About 90% of our funding comes from the town-wide library assessment – neither library receives funding from either village, the town (other than the library assessment) or Broome County. A newsletter explaining the vote will be mailed to residences in late October, and two informational sessions will be held at each library. Please plan to vote on November 4th. In 2008 many voters ignored the library funding proposition. Please remember it this year and encourage others to do so as well.

If you are not yet registered to vote you can download this form and return it by October 10:
