GFJ’s 2015 Quilt Raffle has begun!  This year’s quilt by Carol Bunnell celebrates our library’s 100th birthday.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and can be purchased at our Information Desk.  Proceeds go to support library children’s programs and services.  The drawing will be December 1.  Participate early and often!  

Author Rundy Purdy will present a talk today (Saturday May 15) on his book about caregiving titled “The Sea is Wide.”

Patrons with a GFJ Library card now have access to the incredible resources of Rocket Languages. Learn Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Sign Language, and Spanish with these comprehensive language courses. The children’s room is now closed and will remain closed through at least Wednesday 4/29. At some times during the week of 4/27, there will be limited access to the front entrance to the library as well. The library will be closed on Saturdays from June 26 through September 4.  We will reopen for Saturdays on September 11.  The Broome County Public Library (185 Court St., Binghamton) is open from 9 AM till 5 PM on Saturdays throughout the summer.

First Investors will be presenting a series of financial programs at GFJ over the coming months.  The series will debut on Tuesday, May 19 with “Financial Literacy 101.”  Topics to be covered include setting financial goals; budgeting & controlling debt; saving & investing; and assets vs. liabilities.  The program begins at 7 PM and should…
