National Library Week April 11-17

Every day 300,000 Americans get job-seeking help at their public library.  There are more Wi-Fi hotspots at public libraries (12,000)  than at Barnes & Noble and Borders book stores combined.  Every month 2.8 million business owners and employees use resources at public libraries to support their small businesses.  Every day Americans borrow 2.1 million DVD’s from their public libraries, and more than 225,000 people use library meeting rooms.  Every year, Americans visit their libraries more often than they attend movies or sporting events.  Nation-wide we enjoy $82 million of value every day from the materials we check out at libraries.  Two-thirds of Americans have a library card – do you?  Celebrate America’s public libraries during National Library Week, April 11-17, by stopping by your local library! (Statistics from “How Libraries Stack Up 2010“).
