The Highland Park Winter Blast has been changed to Saturday, January 29th! Stop by from 2:00 to 6:00 for a story, scavenger hunt, ice skating, snowman contest, ride the carousel, and more!

The Library has just received notice from Assemblywoman Lupardo’s office that we have been awarded $6,496 under the New York State Public Library Construction grant program to install a much-needed heating/cooling unit in our staff area.  Much thanks to the Assemblywoman for her continued and long-standing support of public libraries.

      Community Foundation for South Central New York – Broome Library Foundation’s Diane Brown and Laura Knochen-Davis present a $1250 award to GFJ Library Director, Ed Dunscombe and Village of Endicott Grantwriter Beth Putrino to digitize local newspapers from the 1930’s, as a part of GFJ’s Digital Archives Project.

Studies have proved that learning a second language improves brain function and can slow the onset of dementia. Bilingual people benefit from these effects no matter at what age they learn a second language. GFJ offers Mango Languages, a free online language-learning suite with over sixty languages, including a free phone app. And it’s fun!…
