GFJ will be hosting, via our brand new teleconferencing equipment, a program being held at the Port Jervis Free Library featuring Michael Worden, the Ghost Detective from the Paranormal Police Headquarters (www.paranormalpolice.com). Michael offers a unique perspective as an investigator of both the living and the dead! He is a police detective in Port Jervis with over ten years of law enforcement experience, and has been actively investigating ghosts since 2000. His investigations have included Eastern State Penetentiary, the Lizzie Borden house, and Rolling Hills Sanitorium. Mr. Worden is also the author of the book “Ghost Detective” which takes you on a journey of into the dark and eerie world of ghost hunting. The program runs from 6:30 till 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 12, in the Public Computing Center above the library’s front lobby. Some popular authors are advocating for libraries
The 14th annual Library Quilt Raffle is under way. This year’s raffle quilt, titled “Redwork Sue” is once again crafted by local artist Carol Bunnell. The quilt is on display at the library, with tickets available at the Information Desk. The drawing will be September 11, with proceeds benefitting the library’s children’s services.

Our recent software upgrade is apparently blocking patrons from using our Overdrive (Download Zone) e-book/audiobook service. We have been informed that the problem should be resolved by tomorrow (Saturday, June 27) and regret the inconvenience.
