September Board Meeting

The New Yorker’s for Better Libraries Political Action Committee has released its 2010 Voter’s Guide.  The Guide scores New York State legislators based on how strongly they voted in support of library-friendly legislation.  While you’re at their site consider a donation and subscribe to their online newsletter.  Strong libraries don’t just happen!

The May 2011 issue of Discover magazine has a feature article on fracking for natural gas.  The issue is available at our library.

The library is seeking applicants for a seat on its Board of Trustees.  Interested parties must be residents of the Town of Union, and should complete the application and return it care of Library Director Ed Dunscombe, George F. Johnson Memorial Library, 1001 Park St., Endicott NY 13760 (en.ed@4cls.org; fax 757-2491) October 12, 2010. 

Tonight’s Chalk Art Extravaganza is on! Come down from 6-8 pm to create great art with Eric Maruscak!

This was the first year of our Adult Summer Reading Club. We had 40 participants and you read over 500 books!!! Congratulations to our contest winners: Tracy &  Sarah! Hope you enjoyed the club, next year we will try and add some programming!!! See you next summer!
