GFJ is crazy with quilts again this summer. Quilter Carol Bunnell has donated her latest creation Baltimore Fantasy” (pictured) to this year’s quilt raffle. Tickets are a dollar each of 6 for 5. Longtime GFJ employee Jim “Par” Panella passed away suddenly this week. His buddy “Roxy”, a familiar face at the library, came by for a visit today. Roxy is now living with Jim’s sister-in-law. Everyone at GFJ deeply misses them both.
GFJ needs your help! Along with the Your Home Public Library (Johnson City) we have not received an increase in funding since 2008. We hope to place a proposition on this November’s ballot seeking an increase designed to fund the libraries for another four years. But first we need to collect some 2,000 petition signatures. …
