Lincoln Center Local – Free Screening

Just a reminder that the library will be closed on Friday, January 25th due to the replacement of our heating and air conditioning system. We plan to reopen at 9:00am on Saturday 1/26. However, please call or check the website before visiting as a delay in construction could prevent our opening on this day.

We’ve just added the Endicott Daily Bulletin newspaper years 1947-1951 to our Digital Archives. Our local newspaper coverage now includes years 1856-1951, along with the fantastic Endicott-Johnson Workers Review magazine and other E-J and U-E publications.  It’s a portal in time – Enter the Time Machine!  

We’re excited to announce an expansion of GFJ’s Digital Archives.  We’ve added eight years of additional searchable, digitized local newspapers, extending coverage into 1923.  The project will eventually carry coverage to 1960.  We will soon add The E-J Worker’s Review.  The Review was an in-house publication of the Endicott Johnson Corporation published from 1919 till…

The 14th annual Library Quilt Raffle is under way.  This year’s raffle quilt, titled “Redwork Sue” is once again crafted by local artist Carol Bunnell.  The quilt is on display at the library, with tickets available at the Information Desk.  The drawing will be September 11, with proceeds benefitting the library’s children’s services.

The GFJ Friends of the Library are excited to welcome local author Jennifer D. Bokal​ to the library on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. Jen will be presenting and discussing her new book, The Gladiator’s Mistress. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. We hope to see you there!

This is the Johnson Rose. George F. had roses growing on his property (which is where the library stands now). One day he told his gardner to get rid of them. The gardner took them home and replanted them. Or so the story goes… This one was donated back to the library a few years…
