This is the Johnson Rose. George F. had roses growing on his property (which is where the library stands now). One day he told his gardner to get rid of them. The gardner took them home and replanted them. Or so the story goes… This one was donated back to the library a few years…

GFJ has started digitizing parts of its collections. We started with old local newspapers, a treasure trove of local history and genealogy. The collection will eventually be expanded, but 1855-1915 issues are now available at: www.endicott.advantage-preservation.com
