What does a day look like at GFJ? On Tuesday, 2/19 we kept track for SNAPSHOTNY: A Day in the Life of a Library. Here’s what we found:

  • 676 people visited the library
  • 130 people used our public computers
  • 68 reference questions were answered by our staff
  • 43 children participated in library programs
  • 55 adults participated in library programs
  • 624 items circulated
  • 70 people visited our website

New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC Releases Voter’s Guide

The New Yorker’s for Better Libraries Political Action Committee has released its 2010 Voter’s Guide.  The Guide scores New York State legislators based on how strongly they voted in support of library-friendly legislation.  While you’re at their site consider a donation and subscribe to their online newsletter.  Strong libraries don’t just happen!

The library will close today, Monday Oct. 29 at 3 P.M. due to a state of emergency. A decision on Tuesday Oct. 30 will be made as the situation develops. Please call 757-5350 before heading to the library. If you get only voicemail the library is closed.The Tuesday Oct. 31 book review has been cancelled.
