Summer PopUp Library!
StarWalk Kids Media has announced that it will make all 500 eBooks in its collection available free of charge for anyone with Internet access—children, families and educators—during the entire month of July. NO Passwords • NO logins. Kids can just start reading by visiting StarWalkKids.com/PopUp between July 1 and July 31.

Survey reports 1/3 of Americans use library computers
A national survery funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation reports that one-third of Americans (77 million) used public library computers to access the Internet in the last year. 40% received help with employment needs, 37% with health issues, and 42% with educational needs . Overdrive (Download Zone) Temporarily Disabled
Our recent software upgrade is apparently blocking patrons from using our Overdrive (Download Zone) e-book/audiobook service. We have been informed that the problem should be resolved by tomorrow (Saturday, June 27) and regret the inconvenience.
Library Funding Referenda
Despite a miserable economy, the March 15, 2010 issue of Library Journal reports that 84% of library funding referenda passed in 2009. For New York State, the figure was 100%.
